Well, where to begin? Yesterday our sweet Charlie moved into her dorm room at Auburn for her Freshman year! Wow!! It is just amazing how very fast time has passed.
I battled a cold and didn't cycle or exercise until yesterday - and then I just decided to sweat it out! I actually did sweat a lot and felt pretty good.
So today I enjoyed sleeping in a bit (until about 7:45am) Then we decided to hit the beach for some sea glass hunting, which is one of my MOST favorite things! I found one half dollar size clear piece and saw some cool fish around the coral.
There was this one guy totally checking me out....
....but Larry Wayne just let it go - haha!
We got home and I decided to go cycling. It was kind of rainy and I decided TODAY was the day to do something that went against my normal "overly cautious" judgement, by hitting the rode despite the fact I could "see" the down pour coming. With each pedal I was in a battle with myself as to if I should turn around and get home or keep going. Well, I opted to keep going and a light rain began. As it got slightly heavier I got under the pavilion and that's when it happened! I thought NO!!! I'm NOT going to "wait for it to pass!" Just like that - I made my mind up and....PEEeeee-CHOWWwww! ....I was on my bike and peddling away into a typical South Florida gully washer! BOY oh BOY did the bottom fall out! Hahaha!!! It was AWESOME! I just found myself laughing and feeling like a kid again! I was soaking wet by the time it passed and I'm just SO GLAD I did it! I will add here that another interesting thing happened that I will NEVER get used to...A literal "herd" of Iguana's (like 6) of varying sizes from about 2ft and up - came RUNNING across the bike path! haha! I almost crashed - Now THAT would have been a story!
Well, I got home and decided to make a smoothie with my beloved Ninja!
In case anyone is interested in how I make mine (I believe I've posted this previously, but am doing it now): I use Kale, Carrots, Cucumbers,Spinach, Red Grapes, Apple, Pineapple and Banana - cutting and separating into freezer bags (it's just easier that way)
I really like to use Unsweetened Cashew Milk with just a splash of Chocolate Cashew milk - ice and a little water - Along with one scoop of Vanilla Whey Protein Powder...
I blend it for about 1 minute...
And then serve...SO GOOD! Tomorrow I will post a really delicious salad recipie that I love and is super easy to make!
