DAY 28 - THE GREAT CHASE!

This is one of the BEST days EVER!!!! WHY - you ask?? Because my mom and dad are here for EIGHT DAYS!!!!! Wooooo Hooooo!!!!!! I've told yall about them in previous posts, but OH MY GOODNESS....I'm just so so happy! Even at this very moment my mom is sitting right beside me hanging out and my dad next to her....OH SNAP - never mind...they just went to bed! haha!

So ok, CONFESSION time: Yesterday was the last night of my Tall Tale Tellers group and we had Little Caesar's Pizza. I had a cheese AND a pepperoni slice! ...WAIT...that's not it... THEN I had a cookie...and then there was a pack of GOYA vanilla wafer cookies left. I brought them home and thought, "well I could have just a couple"...and then the pack was gone! UGH!!! I felt terrible about it. So terrible that today I ended up having a Chipotle Chicken Salad WITH dressing, instead of the Progresso Soup I took to work....and THEN had 3 beef hard shell tacos! OMG - it is KILLING me to write this! On the other side I've had some good hard cycling, which was a positive. As I rode I realized that quite likely I burned everything I had eaten...followed by the acceptance that had I made healthier choices I would have benefited more. Though this might not sound like a positive, it actually is because ultimately the cycling is causing me to be developing what I've most longed for -- a DESIRE to be healthier. So, though I wish I'd made healthier choices, I'm actually stoked about what is happening!

We did have a really good ride today over at Okeeheelee Park of 11.06 miles in under an hour! It felt good. My goal has been for the first 30 days to simply strive to do SOMETHING in the form of physical exercise at least 6 days a week. I would say that for the most part I have done this and actually exceeded where I thought I would be at this point. The first time I got on a bike and rode to the front of our neighborhood (which is 1 mile), I couldn't even make it past 1/4 of the first mile without stopping for water - out of breath. Today I can ride 10 miles with 1-2 water breaks riding in gears 15-18, AND still breath! haha!

The second goal for the first 30 days was to strive to just "eat healthier"...without a rigid definition of what that totally would entail. Now. my reasoning for this is because I have "dieted" SO MANY times and regardless of the temporary successes, have failed EACH and EVERY time! I am TIRED of the "insanity" of dieting!! (INSANITY - Repeating the same methods, expecting different results). I'm not looking to diet, or have RULES and any other failed method I've done in one way or another in the past. Therefore - my goal is NOT involving any of the aforementioned. I'm happy to say that overall, I've met both my goals.

For the next 30 days I have two more goals: FIRST is to begin a "mix up" of physical exercise, rather than doing the exact same ride everyday. (I will outline further in my next post) SECOND is to aim for more protein and fiber (2/3) to 1/3 carbohydrates. My reasoning? I'm a CARB addict! I know there is no point in trying to cut them down to far or even out...but allow them to be balanced out by protein and fiber.

Last but not least...I DID get in some good "run time" in a GREAT CHASE with an Iguana outside my office building. In the first clip, I like to call it "The Stalking Segment"and the second video is the GREAT CHASE itself!
